"What goes around comes around." Who would have thought that after newspapers, TV and films went to color that black and white would make a comeback. The beauty of shooting for black and white is that you can easily shoot in color and convert to B&W. Since not all photos look good in black and white you can always convert it back to color if it doesn't work.
Converting is easy using software like Photoshop but resuts may vary. Ther are Photoshop actions that can be used to simulate the look of different films. I always liked shooting Tri-x and can select it amongst other films types for conversion. Using Photoshop you can do a simple conversion by choosing Image > Mode > Grayscale. If you are looking for a better conversion follow the instructions below. - Open your image (make sure you have a copy saved) and choose Image > Mode . Lab Color.
- In channels delete the a nd b channels.
- Choose Image > Mode > Grayscale .
- Save your image.
