If you are going to use the frame on your desktop or where it will be viewed from close up, you can get by with a 7 inch frame. But, if you plan on hanging it on a wall to be viewed from across the room, consider a larger size.
Screen quality Investing in a digital photo frame means buying something that will be viewed by you and your family or friends for many years. Don’t rely on the picture on the package, take a look at a demo unit and see if you like it. Is the resolution high enough for you?

Memory Cards Consider the type of camera you use now and what might be used in the future and whether the digital photo frame can handle the memory cards.
Internal Memory How much internal memory does the frame have? The more memory the more images can be displayed. If you want he slide show to not repeat the same images again and again, go for a frame with lots of internal memory.
Sound Some digital photo frames only show photos, some allow you to play music. Video Some digital photo frames also play video. If this feature is not important to you, do the other features make it worth paying a higher fee.
Power source Most digital photo frames use an external power source but some now are allowing you to use rechargeable batteries. Batteries will not allow you to use the digital frame for a long time and forces you to recharge them with an external power supply which you didn’t want to use to begin with.

There have been some reports of trojan horses built in to the digital photo frame. Users infect their computers by using a memory card in their frame then using the same card in their camera and computer. Stick with the well know brands to be on the safe side. |
